There is a shortcut for it though. Create a new layer [CTRL + SHIFT + N], and then hit:

"CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + E"

That should work for you.

I'm really not sure &lt;em&gt;why&lt;/em&gt; you don't have that option in the menu :/</description>
